Data Model for European Car Manufacturer Using ErwinDM

A team project developing a comprehensive data model for a car manufacturer using ErwinDM, an industry leading data modelling software. The project covers various data models, implemention details like constraints and validations, normalization, uniformity, and database adaptability. Planning and schedule tracking ensures effective collaboration, done with tools like a Gantt Planner and GitHub. Deliverables included individual models, generated schema DDL scripts, team progress documentation, and a video presentation.

Developed through iteration and collaboration, entity relationships help flesh out all aspects of the business' data flow. Integrity and uniformity is maintained across tables with careful implementation of constraints, validations, domains, and default values.

The forward engineering generation wizard contains important data points about the proposed schema that describe the tables, constraints, indexes, and the data definition language script to facilitate migration to different servers. The unique requirements of server migration require additional efforts from the team; we covered migration from Microsoft SQL to MySQL and PostgresSQL.

Collaboration, updates, and team focus can all be better communicated within the team through the use of various tools including a Gantt Planner and GitHub. Project vision and resource allocation can be managed and shared best with stakeholders by leveraging an executive overview and schedule.
